Lunar Love Giveaway Hop (Ends 3/13) WW

2nd Annual
Lunar Love Giveaway Hop
March 8th to 13th
Cohosted by Bookworm Lisa

This hop features books with paranormal, supernatural, science fiction or space travel element or books that have something to do with the moon or have a moon on their cover.

I can't help but feature my favorite book in this genre!  I am currently reading book two, but here is the link to Book 1.

I am reading Scarlet, and I am enthralled so far.  A couple years ago, I wouldn't have touched a book like this with a 9-foot pole.  Seriously, I would not have been reading about cyborgs and Lunar people.  In fact, when I tell my mom about the series, it always sounds so strange.  Kind of like when I decided to read Hunger Games.  My daughter is looking forward to reading this book.  I am going to try to get her to read it this summer.  She is intrigued by the story.  I say all this to say that if you don't think you like science fiction or fantasy stories, give Cinder  a try.  The lady who wrote it lives just the next city over from me--my hometown!  And I can guarantee to you that it is completely clean--one of the cleanest books I have ever read,

Enough rambling.  My giveaway is open internationally (as long as Book Depository or Fishpond ship to you), and you may choose this book (or the sequel or another book that follows the hop rules).  Enter by 9 P.M. Pacific time on March 13, and don't forget to hop on after entering the other giveaways on the linky.

This Day in History January 20, 1930

I was quite excited to learn that on this date in 1930, Buzz Aldrin was born.  That's right--the second guy to ever walk on the moon celebrates his 83rd birthday.  I don't think there is much else to be said.  We lost Neil Armstrong last year.  Let's hope that Aldrin is still around for a little while longer.

This Day in History December 31, 2009

I am afraid I don't remember this, but maybe you do.  On this date in 2009, we experienced a partial lunar eclipse and a blue moon at the same time.  A blue moon is the second full moon that happens within a month.  The partial lunar eclipse could only be seen from Asia, Africa, Australia, and Europe.  I guess maybe that's why I don't remember.  Anyway, it was certainly something that just doesn't seem to happen very often.  For more information:
