Funky Monkey Snacks Review

I am so pleased to share with you my second review for Funky Monkey Snacks. Read my earlier review here. In addition to this, I have won two prize packages of these fantastic fruit snacks. I even purchased them for myself. I am probably the only one in my household who actually likes these snacks. My daughter is not fond of them, but she is not a dried fruit fan (even though these are traditionally dried). But I digress.

Funky Monkey Snacks is a company that was specifically created for the express purpose of bringing delicious and healthy snacks to everyone. What a unique concept--fruit that crunches. Each bag contains about three servings of fruit, and they don't add iin the stuff you don't want such as sugar, sweeteners, and preservatives.

I was sent a package of four snacks. (I'm sorry my picture only shows two--I ate the others before I took a picture!) The two featured here are Bananamon and Carnaval Mix. I also received JiveALime and Purple Funk. I will tell you up front that on first taste, you may not like these snacks. The first time I tried them, there was an almost bitter taste that was not agreeable to me. Some of the flavors have an unusual aftertaste. But I am talking about the way things were the first time I ever tried these. They are somewhat of an acquired taste. My favorites are Carnaval Mix and JiveALime. But don't let this deter you. Honestly, I don't taste that "bitterness" any more. My mom is not too keen on these, and I think it has something to do with that taste. Bt the crunch will definitely draw you in.

So why do I recommend your eating these snacks? They are low in calories, fat, and more. They are a healthy snack, and they will replace those senseless potato chips or cheese puffs you stuffed in your mouth at lunch today. I struggle to get fruit in my diet, and these are a simple solution. I hope they someday make funky monkey veggie snacks! I would definitely buy those. But until that time, I will continue to eat them.

I don't know about you, but I am always looking for healthy snacks that are easy for my on-the-go lifestyle. Sometimes I find snacks that are healthy and portable, but then their taste disappoints. I know I am supposed to eat 2-3 servings of fruit a day, but I do not always have fresh fruit on hand. What's a girl to do?

Funky Monkey Snacks is a company that has created healthy snacks that actually taste good. Each pack of fruit contains 3 servings of fruit. It is "fruit that crunches." It has been featured on prestigious shows such as the Today show and prominent magazines such as Family Circle and Weight Watchers.

I was sent a sample pack which contained the following flavors: Applemon, Bananamon, Carnaval Mix, JiveALime, MangOJ, Pink Pineapple and Purple Funk. I have had the opportunity to try these before, but it has been a while. I remember that when I first tried one of the pouches, I was not sure what I thought about these. The flavor is not sugary or greasy like you might expect from a snack of this kind. They are all natural, and they are naturally sweet. Once your taste buds get used to the natural flavor, you will find that these snacks are addictive. I found myself taking these in my lunch instead of baked chips or even dessert. My personal favorite is the JivALime, but all are equally good. My mom agreed. They are not her favorite, but they are nice for something different.

Since I first tried these, I have grown to love these even better. I have yet to find another crunchy fruit snack that tastes this good and does not leave my fingers the color of the fruit I am eating. The pouches are easy to point out (Thank you, Beauty Brite, I am glad I read your review because I would not have thought of that!). I don't think I ever struggled to open these. My daughter refuses to eat them (more for me!) because she does not like dried fruit or anything like that. Maybe someday.

I found that Funky Monkey snacks were hard to find unless you bought them online. You can go here and check out where you can buy them. Though sometimes a little pricier than the unhealthy snacks, I feel they are worth the extra money!
