Dial Kids Body and Hair Wash Review

My daughter is one that does not like to take a shower nor a bath.  She is nearly ten, and it is often still a struggle to get her to use shampoo and body wash.  I was very pleased to get the opportunity to review Dial Kids Body and Hair Wash.  Since she is over age six, I had her try out the appropriate one for her age, and I asked her to give me her honest opinion.  Guess what--she loved it!  It was so easy to have one product that does two things.  It smelled good, too.

Now, being the mother that I am, I decided to try it, too.  And it was better than I thought it would be.  It was gentle on my skin, and my hair was nice and clean.  I had to condition my hair afterwards, but as far as my hair getting clean, it worked.

Magic Whiteboard Review

I am so very excited to share with you my thoughts about an inventive whiteboard that works just like magic!  That's why it is called a Magic Whiteboard.  I don't know about you, but it seems like sometimes I need a memo board of some kind, and I have never had good success with mounting chalkboards or whiteboards.  I always get the sticky stuff for mounting it, and in no time, it falls down.  And I don't like the idea of adding yet another nail or hole into the wall.  Memo boards are truly nothing but a pain.  Even the ones that are magnetic don't always work well for me.  They either only go on the fridge, thus making them inconvenient, or the boards fall down because the magnets aren't strong enough.

Little Passports USA Edition Review

All right, I am a little behind on this review.  I have to admit I forgot about it--Christmas and books got in the way, but I am reviewing it now, so read on.

Some time ago, I got the chance to review Little Passports World Edition.  Yes, my daughter definitely enjoyed it, and now we reviewed the USA Edition.  Amazingly, I think my daughter liked this better.

This is a picture of the fantastic pack we got to review, and my daughter was enraptured from the beginning. The following things were included:

• letter from Sam and Sofia,
• a USA Field Guide
• a USA scratch book
• a map
• a camera. 

By in large my daughter's favorite thing was the scratch book.  She got in the moment I opened it and began working on it.  She was determined to finish it, and she did.  In the process, she asked a lot of questions about the U.S., and she learned a lot.  The camera was something new for her since it was not a digital camera.  I have not developed the pictures yet, but she had loads of fun taking pictures of things from the area where we live.

With Little Passports, you have a couple options available.  You can either go with the World Edition or the USA edition.  I really enjoyed both editions, but my favorite is the World Edition.  My daughter's favorite is the USA edition edition.  No matter what you choose, if you sign up for the subscription, you will get a monthly service that will send your child educational materials and grant them online access to games that involve some part of the world.  In this day and age, it seems that geography is overlooked at school.  It would seem that if something if something is not "tested," it is not taught.  This service can help to fill in the holes.  It would be good to add to home school curriculum as well.

Sunny Sleeves Review--End the Sunscreen Battle

Okay, I realize this is not necessarily the time of year to talk about sunburns and using sunscreen, but we know that sun protection year-round is imperative.  In fact, the sun can sometimes be more wicked when it reflects off the clouds and exposes skin to more harmful UVA and UVB rays.  Skin cancer is not just a summer concern.

When it comes to your kids, it pays to be extra vigilant.  If your child is anything like mine, they probably do not like sunscreen.  My daughter is old enough to put it on herself, but it doesn't mean that the struggle has ended.  There have been many times I have forgotten to put sunscreen on her or just figured she wouldn't be getting much sun, so what was the point?

Permit me to introduce you to Sunny Sleeves.  I had heard about these special sun protection sleeves, but I had never had a chance to try them.  Just so you can get some information about them, here are the quick facts:

Although we had no sun around for my daughter to try these outside, she enjoyed putting them on inside.

I was absolutely amazed that these fit because I was pretty sure they would be too tight and not fit.  My daughter loved them so much that she begged me to be able to wear them around the house.  I said the next time she wore a short sleeved top, she could wear these.  She loves the designs on these, and it is amazing how lightweight and durable they are.  I have not had a chance to wash them or see if they keep you cool when you are outside, but I have to admit that so far, I am impressed.  I look forward to the advent of the sun so she can wear them outside and put them to the ultimate test.

I love the fact that they have these for adults, and that you can completely customize them with the design you want.  I would be interested in checking them out for me this summer.  I don't like wearing sunscreen on my arms, and I know I don't protect my arms like I should.

LivyBelt™ Waistband Review--Unique Kids Stretchy Belts

My daughter has always tended to be one who has been tall for her age.  This means that we have to get bigger sizes in pants so that they are long enough.  This creates another problem, however.  Often her pants are too big in the waist.  We love the pants that include an adjustable waist, but those are sometimes hard to find in every style.

I would like to tell you about an innovative idea from olive & nell.  They have created a unique stretchy belt for kids using the LivyBelt™ Waistband.  You might be wondering what all of that means, so let me explain. It was created by a mom who had the same problem we did!  This unique belt very easily slips over the child's pants or skirt.  It has elastic in it that keeps the waistband of the clothing in place, and you can choose to cover it or decide to show it off as a fashion statement.  Or you could choose to wear it as a headband as my daughter wanted to do!  The joys of children, indeed.

These are the three styles we got to review, and my daughter loved the brown one!  The other two are more "girlie," and my daughter tends to be a tomboy.  I honestly did not think it would fit around her waist, but it did, and it did what it said.  The waistband was held in place, and it felt comfortable to her.  This is certainly an item that I would recommend, and I only wish we had these a few years ago.  My daughter has almost outgrown these, but she is big for her age.  I hope that other sizes will be created.  I have some clothes even I could use them on.  It's not just kids that struggle with this issue of the waistband being too big.
