Fun Fridge Magnets (Pregnancy Moods) Review

At this point in my life, it has been ten years since I have been pregnant, but I remember going through the process.  I was married at the time, and there were times I felt great and times I felt not so great.  I didn't have a really rough pregnancy except for my blood pressure.  Thankfully everything went well, and the delivery practically went off without a hitch.

When I was contacted by Fun Fridge Magnets to review their Pregnancy Moods  and New Mom/New Dad magnets, I jumped at the chance.  I have two friends who are currently pregnant, and one of their baby showers was coming up.  So I knew this would be a special gift to give to them, and I knew it would be unique.  All the company asked was for my honest review of the product (and, of course, to share the thoughts of the recipients of this gift).

If you have never heard of Fun Fridge Magnets, let me give you a little background.  These are high-quality magnets that go on your fridge, and as you can see in the video, you can move the little marker to how you are feeling.  Okay, I realize that this might sound cheesy, but stop and think for a moment.  We have busy lives, right?  Do we always have a chance to talk to our significant other and let him/her know how we are feeling?  I know I don't, and when I was pregnant, I often wasn't even asked by my husband.  And face it, ladies.  Men don't often share how they are feeling nor ask how we are feeling.  This is a simple way (with pictures for the guys who struggle to read words--just had to put that in for fun) to quickly share with everyone in the house how you are feeling.  "Dad" can easily find out if "Mom" is having a good, tired, bad, or any other kind of day.

I am really glad that they have come out with the Parent and Kid Mood Magnets!  I definitely want to get one of those because no matter what I find myself saying to my daughter, she rarely lets me know how she feels!  And sometimes she thinks I'm mad or sad when I'm not.  What a great way to open up communication between the two of us!

Now, let me tell you about the reaction of my friend.  I wrapped up these magnets, and when she opened this, she got a big smile!  And everyone was curious about them.  I was happy because even though "Dad" was not at the baby shower, I was giving them something for the two of them, not just the upcoming baby.  I don't think anyone had ever seen these, and it was certainly all my friend could do to put these down and not play with them since she had more gifts to open!

So I highly recommend these for those who are expecting or have just become parents.  These magnets are inexpensive, and I will venture to say no one else will be giving these at the baby shower!

When you check them out to purchase these magnets, be sure to follow them on facebook, too, so you can stay up to date with their most recent news and deals.  Be sure to watch for a giveaway coming up very soon!

The company sent me a free product in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Here is a little about this company:

Stork Stack, an emerging subscription gift service site committed to delivering the highest-quality products for both mom and baby, puts their own twist on the childhood fable of “bundles of joy” with their monthly subscription gift offerings, known as "Stacks." Each Stack is comprised of five of the company’s favorite, deluxe products; hand-selected by their team of Moms. Every month, new products are selected; but are carefully tailored to be appropriate for both mom and child, starting from the third trimester of pregnancy to your baby's third birthday. Stork Stack also gives back to the less fortunate, by providing families in need with donated stacks per every three, six and 12 month subscription. Stork Stack subscriptions and gift codes are available at www.storkstack.com starting at $28 ($50+ value).

While I am not an expectant mother, I know a couple.  And I bet you do, too.  What a perfect gift for yourself or a special friend in your life.  And just so you know, I had the opportunity to either review the service or give it away, and I figured I would give it away!  Because I love you guy, and I wanted to give the company as much exposure as possible.

Stretch Marks--A By-Product of Pregnancy

When I became pregnant with my daughter, I was so excited.  I knew my body would change, but I had no idea how much certain parts of my body would change forever.  Parts of my body that never sagged before seem to give in to gravity like they never did before.  And no matter what I do, it seems that I cannot get rid of my belly--in spite of my weight loss.

One thing I did not really know about were stretch marks.  I remember when they first came--somewhere around the three month mark.  I remember buying all the fancy lotions that were supposed to reduce the stretch marks, but if I am honest, nothing really helped.  No matter what I tried, stretch mark removal and prevention seemed to be beyond my grasp!

I was glad to see that after my daughter was born, the stretch marks did get lighter, but if I am honest, I still don't like the way they look.  I know I should do something about it, but it seems that the products are so expensive.  I also prefer natural products, and it just seems hard to find quality items for this problem that practically all women share.

At least losing the baby weight did help, but I still have stretch marks even nine years later.  I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it, but it would be nice to find something that could reduce these stretch marks.  I am always open to ideas as long as they are not too expensive and actually work!

The nice thing about stretch marks is that at least they normally appear in areas that most of keep covered.  I am glad that I do not like to wear skimpy clothes or bikinis.  It could be a problem then.  Maybe stretch marks are "nature's" way of telling us mothers that we need to dress more modestly.  I had never thought of that before.  But then again, I was never really a provocative dresser anyway.

So how about you?  Are you bothered by stretch marks?  Do you have any remedies for them?  Or maybe you avoided them (or know how you will should you ever have children).  I would love to hear from you!
