Organic Rug Cleaning--Easier Than You Think!

By Harry Whittier Frees [Public domain or Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons
It seems like everyone wants to be more eco-friendly in this day and age, and this goes for everything.  Most of us still have some kind of carpeting or rugs, and using harsh chemicals to clean them does not seem very "green."  Too bad we can't get our animals to do it (like the picture you see above), but I know that not one of our fourteen cats would agree to help us clean in this manner.  And most of us don't even have the time nor resources to clean our rugs and/or carpet in this fashion.  So what are we to do?

If you are need of area rug cleaning in New York, you are in luck.  You can search for rug cleaning services who only use the high quality, organic cleaners, and be assured that you are not only getting your rugs cleaned in a superior fashion, but you are not harming the earth nor your families.  Although we don't always think about it, there are a lot of hidden dangers in our normal household cleaners that can harm our families and the environment.

If you choose a traditional carpet cleaning company, they are bound to use these harmful chemicals.  Granted, your carpet may feel nice and clean, but there is the great possibility that within your family, you may see reactions to these chemicals including upper respiratory and allergy issues.  In extreme cases, these chemicals can even permanently damage the nervous system.  I don't say all this to scare you but just to make you aware of your choices.

If you choose an organic rug cleaning company, you remove those dangers from your house.  There is so much out there that can harm your family, your children, and your pets.  There are enough things out there that can cause problems.  Isn't it nice to think that you can actually remove one of those dangers from your house by making a simple decision?

Of course, with the economy the way it is, you may be concerned about the cost of these services.  Usually, we tend to think that if we use a natural and/or organic product or service, it is going to cost us a lot more.  I am happy to report that according to customer reviews, it is not!  The prices are still reasonable, and the quality is much higher.  While it behooves you to check out the prices for yourself, I think you will discover that the prices are competitive and worth every penny.

Another concern is how well these organic cleansers work on tough stains.  You may be surprised.  Again, customer reviews claim that the organic cleaners work as well if not better than the traditional cleaners.  I can go a step further here.  I myself have found that organic, natural cleaners generally do work just as well and sometimes better than those other cleaners.  I can remember using all those harsh chemicals and not getting the stain out, but when I used the "green" cleaners, it magically came out!

In short, the next time you need your rugs or carpets cleaned, don't go the traditional route.  Remember to be kind to the earth, your family, and your house.  Go with an organic rug cleaning service, and I can almost guarantee that you will not be sorry!

Mohawk Home Area Rug Giveaway (Ends 9/27) U.S.

Mohawk Home is the largest manufacturer of area rugs, indoor and outdoor mats, and washable rugs in the United States. They are proud to continue producing quality rugs that still carry the label, "Made in the USA!" Belinda of Pinterest Fanatic recently had the opportunity to review one of their rugs... here is an excerpt from her review along with some before and after photos of her Reinvented Room thanks to Mohawk Home.

I always love it when the opportunity arises to discuss products in my area of expertise. Before I became a full-time blogger, I enjoyed managing the East Coast Sales for a High End Furniture Manufacturer and providing Interior Design Consulting. I've worked with many major furniture and rug lines throughout my career and I am thrilled to tell you about Mohawk Home.

This is my lovely little dining room. The place my Husband, two teenagers and I gather daily to discuss what is on our minds over a delicious meal. The first piece of furniture that I ever purchased new was this dining table, so it has been in the family for a long time. As much as I'd love to have a new look, it's still functional so there's really no need to replace it. Plus, purchasing a new dinette set can be very costly. At the same time, this room looks really boring. It's very neutral with it's light khaki wall paint and antiqued white accents. Even my mirrored prints on the wall are very bland and monotone. I found a gorgeous silk arrangement of tulips that added a splash of color to the room, but that's really not enough to make this room pop!
