It was the summer of 1913, and Cora Kensington's life on the family farm has taken a dark turn. Not only are the crops failing, so is her father's health. Cora is carrying on, helping her mother run their Montana farm until a stranger comes to call, and everything changes. Cora then learns a secret that will radically change her future: she is the illegitimate daughter of a copper king who has come to claim her.
Cora is invited to take the "Grand Tour" of Europe, a journey intended to finish a person's education, to solidify an understanding of ancient culture and contemporary refinement.

As she travels from England to France with half-siblings she's never known, Cora encounters the blessings of the Kensington family name, as well as the curses. But when an unbidden love begins to form, she realizes the journey is only beginning.
Faced with the challenge of accepting her father, new family, and the identity that comes with it, Cora also struggles to accept that she is also the daughter of the one true King-a Father who is the only One who can truly heal.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What can I say?  This was a fantastic historical romance, and it was completely delightful in every way.  I loved Cora, Will, and Pierre, and I am completely excited that this is the first in a series!  I am glad that the book had an ending, but I am also glad that there are many unanswered questions (which means I will be coming back for more!)

I have never read anything by this author, but her writing style is fantastic and very easy to read.  I love the spiritual references in the book, and the author even adds some action and suspense into the novel to truly grab the reader's attention.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say.  I love the historical references, and I love the romance in the book!  It was an easy-to-read book, and those who love romances and historical fiction will find this a nice, cozy book to read on a rainy afternoon.

I think that Cora's journey to discover who she is was truly touching.  It made me consider my own journey to figure out who I truly was, but I was much older than Cora when I figured all that out.  I am so glad that God was a big part of this.  And I love the fact that God was woven into the story in such an expert fashion.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated in any way, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
