Blurb:
From the outside, Molly West had everything, beauty, brains, and a career she’d retired from not once, but twice. Being in the limelight and in a sport that was male driven, she was often surrounded men. She ignored first the boys, and as she got older, the men. Unfortunately, they were all the same, all after one thing, and she had absolutely no use for them. Her cold shoulder and patented not a chance in hell look were usually enough to get her point across. Occasionally, she had to resort to her sass—and her brother.

Molly had no plans in changing what was a perfectly good system. That is until she walked into the pits. When she stood toe-to-toe with the sex in jeans, she knew right then and there that the man her adoptive mother always told her was out there, was now standing right in front of her.

Carter Sterling had traveled the racing circuit since he was a boy. He’d heard all the old standbys, She’s out there somewhere, love comes along when you least expect it. Good things come to those that… Yeah, he’d heard them all. The last place he expected to meet the love of his life was on a pro track. All she did was smile, and he knew, looking into her sapphire blue eyes, Molly West was his. Forever.

If it was only that easy. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he had a gripping feeling in him. An overwhelming need to protect her. A girl he’d just met. Carter had learned a long time ago that gut feelings are almost never wrong.

Molly now held his heart in her hands, but it was going to take a lot more than just love to protect her from the past she thought she’d buried a long time ago.

Excerpt:
They continued to walk back toward the pits, but he stopped when they were in the darkened hallway, just before they would have rounded the corner and been seen.

Molly’s heart sped.

He was still holding her hand, but turned to face her as he placed his other hand on her waist. She sucked in a breath when he stepped forward. Her first instinct was to be anxious, to cower back, but something in those ice blue eyes told her she didn’t have to be afraid.

When he had leaned in to kiss her when they were sitting on the track, she’d panicked. And then when he had started to move away, she’d panicked again—for a different reason entirely.

Those flip-flopping emotions were about to drive her crazy.

Now, in the dimmed corridor, Molly closed her eyes to catch her breath and to search for a decision. He’d been rubbing his thumb on her waist, but his movements stopped when her eyes dropped closed. The soothing strokes didn’t continue until she finally reopened her eyes and dragged her attention up his chest and past his Adam’s apple. She continued up until she locked her gaze with his. When she offered him a hesitant smile, he began stroking her again with a warm smile on his lips.

Staring down at her, he let go of her hand and skimmed the back of his over her cheek. She felt her heart thundering, her pulse racing when she ran her hands up his chest, feeling each and every rippled muscle. She’d never purposely touched a man like this before. Sure, she’d felt Brody’s muscles when she’d smacked him for one reason or another. Or when trying to push him off of her after he’d wrestled her to the ground being an ornery brother and all. But this? This was foreign.

Her eyes were back on her own fingers, taking everything in. She stopped at his heart and could feel it pounding hard beneath the soft cotton t-shirt.

“Just so you know…” he started in his slow, sexy voice.

She could tell he was waiting for eye contact again before continuing. “Yeah?” she whispered.

“I’m going to fall in love with you.”

About the Author:

Guest Post by the Author:
Somebody asked me the other day how I came up with story lines and if I was afraid I’d run out of ideas.  Well, the truth is, yes I am afraid I’ll run out of ideas, but I don’t dwell on it!

For me I pull so much of my stories from personal experience or things other people have told me.  I also don’t leave home without a small notepad to jot down ideas when they hit me.  I know for a fact if I don’t write them down, they’ll be long forgotten.

Another piece to that puzzle is I have figured out very quickly that I love to write in a series style.  That way I can get more involved with my characters and keep them around longer.  That’s how Racing to Love has expanded.  Carter’s Treasure is the first book and was released June 7th.  I was so in love with the characters and they each have a story to tell.  In this particular series, the main characters are all life-long friends, so even when book two of the series, Jesse’s Soul, releases next January 2013, you’ll still see Molly, Carter, and Eli woven throughout Jesse’s journey.  When the last chapter of Carter’s Treasure was written, I knew that wasn’t the end of their story.  I like to know what happens down the road.  In a series, I can show that.  It may be through another character’s point of view, but you’ll know by the end of the series how their lives turned out after the happily ever after.

I like that in a series, one story line can blend into the next, and idea after idea just sort of appears.  That’s how ideas keep filling up my notebook, all waiting to be told.

The great news is that I am going to give away one e-book PDF copy of Racing to Love.  This is open worldwide, and all entries will need to be entered into the rafflecopter form by June 26 9:00 P.M. Pacific time.  When you are done, be sure to check out my second giveaway below and hop along to the other blogs for the chance to win even more books!

Kings of Cardenas Book 1 (The Third Son) by Elise Marion Virtual Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway (Ends 3/15) WW

Title:  The Third Son (Kings of Cardenas, Book 1)
Author:  Elise Marion
Publisher:  Self
Length:  113,000 words
Sub-Genres:  Historical, Mystery/Thriller, Suspense
VBT Dates:  Feb 13-Feb 22

AVAILABLE AT:

BLURB:

Rake. Rogue. Scoundrel. Each of these words has been used to describe Damien Largess, youngest prince of Cardenas, most frequently by his ridiculously somber eldest brother. Damien is perfectly content to spend his days drinking at the card tables, and his nights in the bed of his scheming mistress, especially since doing these things seems to vex his high-handed brother to no end. But when he steps into a glittering ballroom on the night of his twenty-fifth birthday, the roguish young prince’s life will be forever changed.
Beautiful. Graceful. Sensual. When Esmeralda steps into the center of the King’s ballroom to perform for his youngest son’s birthday, every eye in the room is glued to the tall, lithe Gypsy dancer. One pair of eyes seems to burn straight through her, and though she has worked endlessly to shield her heart, she finds her defenses slowly slipping away in the presence of the handsome prince. She cannot resist his devastating charm, nor is she immune to the earth shattering desire in his kiss. As she falls rapidly under his spell, Esmeralda dares to hope for a future she would never have thought possible.
With a deadly plot against the royal family surrounding him in danger and intrigue, Damien will face a decision he never thought he would have to make. Would he step up to claim a responsibility that should never have fallen to the third son? Or will he abandon it to risk all for love?

EXCERPT:

“Tell me about that thing you were looking into earlier.”
Damien stood and grabbed the long black instrument from the balcony rail. “This? You’ve never seen a telescope before?” He smiled when she shook her head again.
“My father told me about them,” she said wistfully, thinking of the stories her father used to tell her of his travels. “I’ve never seen one in person though.”
“Well, allow me to demonstrate how it works,” he said handing her the portable telescope and pointed out various constellations. Esmeralda noticed the way his face softened and his eyes lit up as he showed her each cluster of stars and the history behind them.
“I would not have guessed that you were interested in something as intellectual as astronomy.” Esmeralda regretted the words the moment she said them. She had not wanted to offend him. But he merely shrugged and returned the telescope to its case.
“It is not common knowledge,” he said, rejoining her on the chaise. “My less reputable hobbies are more known than my intellectual ones. I have several telescopes, of varying sizes and for different purposes, kept in the observatory in the east wing of the palace. My personal library contains several volumes on astronomy, poetry, botany, and biology.”
“The rumors I’ve heard about you make you seem so superficial,” she said, unable to believe that this man before her who spoke so eloquently of science and poetry could be the same drinking, gambling rakehell she’d heard so many stories about. “How is it that no one seems to know of your many other interests?”
“That is mostly my fault,” he admitted, toying with his signet ring to keep from touching her skin. “I have kept these interests mostly to myself, though my family and servants know of them. Publicly though, I have only allowed people to see one side of me.”
Esmeralda nodded. “I know exactly what you mean,” she said sincerely. “Being a Gypsy who dances in a tavern gives people certain ideas about me all the time.”
Damien knew he was guilty having misguided thoughts of his own about her. “Yes but you are innocent, where I am not. People have the right idea about me.”
“Then why don’t you change it?”
Damien shrugged. “Because for all the gossip that exists about me, people are more concerned with the heir to the throne than with me. Lionus will be king, Serge will be general of Cardenas’ military, and I will be the third son. No one really expects much from me.”
“But surely you must want more than that? To be known as more than just the last son?”
It was like she had read his mind, Damien thought. How could she have known of his desire for a more fulfilling life?
“Of course I want more. It is just that no one has ever expected anything of me, and so I’ve never expected anything from myself.”
“But there must be something,” she prodded.
“I have often thought of founding a university, perhaps even naming it for my father.”
Esmeralda smiled, and her entire face nearly glowed. Damien felt that smile tugging at his insides, twisting at his heart. “That’s a wonderful idea!” she said, her excitement contagious, sparking something in him now that he had given voice to his dream. “I see no reason why you shouldn’t do just what you’ve said.”
Damien studied her face, illuminated by the pale moonlight. “You are a marvel,” he said softly, cupping her cheek with his hand. He had resisted long enough, the urge to touch her had finally overcome his will. “Such freshness and passion,” he murmured, reaching up to slide the white cap from her head. Her hair tumbled around her shoulders; the scent of jasmine grew even stronger. She stiffened slightly when he leaned toward her, but relaxed when he pressed his face to her thick locks and inhaled. “That fragrance is intoxicating.”
“My mother makes perfumes and soaps,” she said. Or at least she thought she said it aloud. Damien brushed his lips lightly up her neck, moving up over her chin, and finding her lush mouth. The moment his lips touched hers, she was lost.
He swept her swiftly into his arms and crushed her against him, molding her body against his from chest to hip. Though his hold on her was tight and fierce, his lips moved with surprising softness over hers. He took her mouth slowly, trying carefully not to overwhelm her with his growing ardor. He clenched a handful of her hair and tugged gently, slanting her head back to gain better access to her mouth.
He deepened the kiss, his tongue sliding achingly over hers, arousing feelings she never thought could exist low in her belly. Heat suffused through her, spreading from her middle until she was hot all over. Her hands rested on his chest, tingling at the feel of his corded muscles beneath her fingers. He brought his hands to her waist, so slender he could nearly span the width of it with his large hands. He slid his hands slowly upward over her ribcage, his fingertips lightly brushing her breasts. She sighed into his mouth and arched her back unknowingly, her body responding before her mind could rationalize what she was doing. He lowered his head, showering her neck and shoulders with kisses, working his way steadily downward. His hand cupping one breast jolted her senses, sending her blood rushing rapidly through her veins.

The Third SonThe Third Son by Elise Marion

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was not sure what I thought of this book in the beginning. (It seems I begin many of my reviews that way!) It had all the classic elements of a romantic story--the royal rake with no responsibilities, the commoner Gypsy girl who was so beautiful and caring, the evil villain from within. And it basically followed the classic love story with a bit of intrigue thrown in. And lots of lovemaking!

I did not care much for Damien in the beginning, but I cannot say I cared much for any of the royal family until time went on in the book. Esmeralda, however, was enchanting from the first time she entered the book. And it is clear that Damien would agree with my affinity for her. Davina was harsh, cruel, and crass--typical of her kind indeed. No one else caught my eye but Nicolai. He seemed very likable.

By the time I was about a third of the way through the book, I was thoroughly mesmerized by the plot. I knew who the villain had to be, but I often found myself second-guessing myself. The author painted the villain's character extremely well and covered her tracks impeccably.

While I was thoroughly enchanted by the book, there were some minor thins I could have done without. I wish that the author had not quite had things work out in just the way they did. I don't want to give away the story, but it just seemed a bit gruesome in places. I also wearied of the intricate lovemaking, and all between unmarried people. That always does bother me. I could have done without the profanity that was used in the book. I felt it entirely unnecessary in most instances where it was used.

For me, the greatest flaw in her book was the addition of the prologue. I think it would have been a much more mystifying book without that information positioned where it was. I think that the villain would have been more terrifying and kept me more on edge without it, but that is merely my opinion.

One thing about which I am grateful is that the book shows that your past will find you out. I also liked that Damien was a man of principle when it came right down to it. I will be reading the sequel to this very soon, and I think I could find it just as intriguing if not more so!

This book was provided to me in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated in any way, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
As a child I always had my nose in a book. From R.L. Stine to Chronicles of Narnia to The Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley High, I read it all. When I started Junior High and found out that the school library had over 400,000 books, my goal was to read every single one! Of course I didn't achieve that particular goal, but I sure had fun trying!
In high school I developed a talent for writing and discovered romance. Needless to say I combined my love for both and am now a published Indie author. After almost a year of peddling my book from agent to agent with no success I decided that my work was good enough despite the constant rejection. That's when I discovered the world of indie publishing through e-books. I couldn't have made a better decision than stepping out on faith and doing something for myself instead of waiting around for someone else to do it for me.
A litle bit more about me: My husband Kevin and I have been married for 4 years and have two beautiful children, Haley (4) and Gavin (4 months). We are a military family, which means I spend a lot of my time alone with two children. People often ask me how I deal with the military life. I simply say, someone's got to do it, right? I am proud of my husband for serving his country.
When I'm not reading (which is almost always) or writing (I try to every day), I am watching movies (which I love), cooking (which I love even more) or watching someone else cook on TV (love me some Paula Deen). I have been singing my entire life and enjoy being my church's choir every Sunday. My large, extended family is close and means the world to me.

Now, I did say there would be a giveaway, and I have decided to use rafflecopter this time for these e-book giveaways to see if the response increases.  I am done taking the easy way out.  So one of my international readers will received a PDF copy of The Third Son.  Place your entries in the rafflecopter form by 9 P.M. Pacific Time on March 15.  Best of wishes to you!

The Unwilling Bride Blog Barrage Promotion and Giveaway (Ends 3/5) WW

First off, I want to apologize for posting this late.  I have been so busy with all of my reviews that I honestly forgot!  So forgive my tardiness.  I will see that does not happen again!

Title: The Unwilling Bride
Author: Candy Ann Little
Publisher: Kingdom Kastle Publishing, Inc.
Length: 107,000 Words
Sub-Genres: Historical, Inspirational/Christian

AVAILABLE AT: Amazon

BLURB:
Set amid political unrest in 1789, Caitlin Gallagher finds herself in an arranged marriage. She hates the idea of marriage and loathes the man that is now her husband. With all the turmoil in her life, she starts to doubt her faith. Can Caitlin find faith in God and love in the arms of her enemy?  Dillon Cade’s quiet life is turned upside-down when he agrees to marry a young maiden to protect her. As he uses his newspaper to fight President Adams’ sedition acts and help Thomas Jefferson get elected, he must now also deal with an unwilling bride. Can Dillon tolerate her behaviour long enough to win her trust?

EXCERPT #1:
The clip clopping of horses’ hooves alerted Caitlin to someone coming up the drive. She dropped the leather bag over the balcony. It hit the ground with a dull thud. Hiking up her skirt to a length far too improper, she held it over one arm and straddled the railing. After both feet were firmly planted on the other side of the banister, she extended her arms trying to grasp the branch of the oak tree that tauntingly stretched before her.
Not quite able to reach the branch, she decided to make a jump for it. Mustering all of her determination she leapt into the air, grabbing hold of the large bough with both arms. She dangled precariously, trying to swing her feet up to the branch, however the long skirt wrapped around her ankles making the task difficult. The rough bark cut through her thin overcoat, scratching the soft skin on her arms and making the process of holding on even harder. Looking down and realizing the height from which she dangled gave her the resolve to grip even tighter, no matter how much it hurt.

Finally swinging a leg up high enough to reach the branch, she twisted her small torso around until she sat perched upon the limb like a bird. Cautiously standing up, she lifted her skirt once again. “This foolish thing is in my way.” She tucked the front hem into the sash around her waist. “There, that should hold it.” She needed both hands free to descend the tree. Tentatively placing a foot on the limb below, she carefully progressed through the coloured leaves on her path to freedom.

She’d just passed the middle of the tree when her slipper skidded, making her lose balance and topple. A scream pierced the air as she fell. The branches reached out, grabbing at her clothes and entangling her hair, but did nothing to stop her plunge downward. Squeezing her eyes shut, she prepared for the impact of the hard ground, but instead felt the softness of a body.

Someone grabbed her around the waist tumbling with her and easing the collision. Caitlin lay on the ground, breathless and unable to move. Her heart raced wildly while her entire body throbbed. I can’t be dead, she thought. I hurt too much. Opening her eyes she found her older brother frowning at her. His short brown hair stood up in spikes, and grass clung to the side of his face.

“Brogan.” She squealed with relief. “I’m so glad to see you.”
“What do you think you’re doing?” He scolded and stood up.
“I…was…umm…climbing a tree.” Her legs still felt wobbly, she didn’t dare try to get up.
“You could have been killed.”
“I’ve watched you climb that tree lots of times.” She didn’t like him taking that parental tone.
“I do not have skirts and slippery shoes.”
“I almost made it.”
“Almost! You could have been seriously hurt, or even killed. Honestly, Caitlin do you have any sense in that head of yours?”
“I have all the sense I need.” She rose from the ground, pulling her skirt down. “And do not lecture me.”
“Then perhaps you will listen to Father.”
“Brogan, no!” She pulled at his arm. “You cannot tell him or Mama.”
“Then tell me what you were doing.” He crossed his arms in front of his chest, staring.
Caitlin had no choice but to throw herself on his mercy, “Running away.” She plucked some leaves out of her hair.
“Trying to throw a rub in the way?”
“So what if I’m spoiling everyone’s plans. No one cares about spoiling my life.” She pouted. “And what are you doing over here anyway?”
“Keeping an eye on you. I knew you would try something foolish.”
“’Tis no more foolish than getting married.”
“Caitlin, marriage is not that unfavorable. Why must you be so dramatic?”
“I’m dramatic?” She glared at him. “’Tis easy for you to say, you are still unattached. How would you feel if Mama and Papa made you get married?”
“I can assure you I would not be pulling dangerous stunts.”
“’Twas my last resort.” Her quivering lip informed Brogan of the forthcoming tears.
“Now, Caitlin, do not be upset.”
“Will you help me?” She pleaded. “I can hide in the rattler and you can make an excuse to leave. Then you can drop me off outside of town.” Her heart felt light once again as a new plan dawned. “If I do not get away now I will never be free again.”
“Where will you go?”
“Anywhere away from here.”
“How do you plan on supporting yourself?”
“I will find a job,” she said irritably. “Why does everyone insist that I cannot care for myself?”
“Because you can’t,” he stated matter-of-factly. “And pulling a dangerous stunt without thinking about the consequences is proof of your immaturity.”
“I’m immature! Why you scatter-witted nincompoop. I knew the risks and accepted them in order to gain my freedom. Just like Dwayne did.”
“Our older brother willingly gave his life for the fight of Ireland. I have risked my own life several times in the pursuit of freedom, but you cannot pull dangerous stunts, just to get your own way. ‘Tis not the same thing.” He sighed, “You are too head strong for your own good. Take my advice and for once in your life just go along with the plans.”
“Would you advise Ireland to stop fighting and go along with England?”
“Nay. Only you, my dear sister.”
“Why do I get such counsel?”
“’Twill save all involved a lot of headaches.” He plucked a twig from her tangled curls. “Now, go get your bags and I’ll distract Mother and Father so you can sneak back into the house.”
“And if I refuse?” She challenged, not ready to give up yet.
“Please, Caitlin, trust me on this.”
“Why?” She crossed her arms. “Everyone keeps talking about trust, but no one will explain a thing.”
“You will be apprised of all the factors in due time.”
“You know more than you’re telling me.” She crossed her arms.
“I must abide by our parent’s wishes, even if I don’t agree with them.”
“Will you promise to tell me what you can?”
“I’m sorry, Cate. It has to come from Father. Now, be quick and get in the house. Dillon is here for dinner and you need to dress.”

EXCERPT #2:

The sun stood high in the sky warming the fragrant air that swirled around the occupants in the garden. The tinkling of water from a large fountain spouting crystal liquid into a small pool served as the backdrop for the couple. The red, gold, and yellow color scheme of autumn further complemented the choice of cream satin for the bride.

She stiffly smiled as they went through the ritual, reciting the sacred words and praying. When it came time for the ring, she slipped her glove off and gasped when Dillon slid the huge diamond on her third finger. After a few words of instruction the preacher pronounced them man and wife and told Dillon to kiss his bride.
Caitlin felt the heat from his body as he stepped closer, placing an arm around her waist. A smile played upon his lips, “Are you ready, my sweet?”
“Make haste and get it over with,” she groaned. The corners of her mouth turned down, but her head obediently tilted up. She closed her eyes bracing for the kiss, however both were unprepared for the spark that charged between them when their lips met. Caitlin’s eyes flew open and she would have backed away if the steel arms around her waist hadn’t tightened, keeping her anchored to that spot. He kissed her tenderly at first, gently moving his mouth above her own, producing sensations that were overwhelming and exciting. A soft moan escaped as her mouth responded to his lips.

The gnawing in the pit of Dillon’s stomach grew like wildfire causing his desire to quickly burn out of control. He deepened the kiss forcing Caitlin’s mouth open and greedily tasted the treasures inside. His kind, gentle lips turned fierce with longing and passion. Pulling her soft body even closer against his hard muscled chest produced emotions that rampaged through his soul, tormenting his body.

Caitlin hesitantly complied at first, but soon found her own hunger quietly abiding behind the reluctant facade. She wound her arms around his neck inching as close as possible. All other feelings fled leaving behind a craving that only his touch would quench. Eventually, confusion emerged from somewhere deep in the crevice of her heart, reminding her that Dillon was her enemy.

Managing to find some strength in her feeble limbs, she pushed at his rock hard chest breaking the mysterious spell they’d fallen under. A shaky hand flew to her mouth touching the warm wetness left behind. She was thankful he didn’t immediately withdraw his hands from her waist or she’d have toppled over. His kiss seemed to suck the strength from her body and mind. She felt a little embarrassed. Having never been kissed like that before, she didn’t know if her reaction had been appropriate.

Dillon vaguely heard the crowd cheering as his senses slowly returned. Remembering they were still in front of their wedding guests, he wondered what they thought of such a passionate display. He’d only meant to give her a little kiss to seal the vows. How had it turned into an ardent demonstration of emotion?

What Every Antique Hunter Must Know PDF Review

I recently had the opportunity to review What Every Antique Hunter Must Know PDF version.  I will tell you right now that I am not the antique expert in the family.  My best friend, Martin, was the reason that I downloaded this.  He is always going to antique shops, and he knows a lot about them.  I am the one who doesn't know very much, so I thought that I would download this e-book so I can "keep" up with him.

I love the way the book is organized.  Not only that, I love the font that is used!  It already puts me into the "antique hunter spirit" as old-looking fonts always do.  Thankfully, this is still easy to read while at the same time visually appealing.

The topics covered in this e-book are really quite extensive without getting too bogged down with details.  In today's society, the term "antique" is often quite ambiguous.  This e-book has a fantastic "antique test" for you to consider before buying anything.

The book goes on to talk about antiques that do not really interest me, but there are still a lot of gems within these pages.  The principles related in the book are ones from which any antique collector could benefit.  It is clear that the author knows what he is talking about!

The list of reference websites in the back is probably one of the most profitable sections of the e-book.  And since this is an e-book, you can click directly on the links without having to type them in!

So if you are an antique hunter/collector (or know someone who is), be sure to check out this great antiquing e-book!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Dating 911 by Kathleen Grieves Blog Tour and Giveaway (Ends 12/24) WW (Closed)

BLURB:
Emergency room nurse, Roxanne Carter is a loser-magnet wishing she could enjoy her single life. Commiserating with girlfriends over butterscotch martinis creates the idea of The Dating Manifesto--a not so scientific research project which promises to point the way to dating success. While gathering data to find the most suitable single men available, she wades through a series of unsavory, stale dates, which literally places her back at ground zero. Just when she is ready to give up, sin personified in the form of sexy firefighter Jett Avery, arrives tainting all of her previous data.
A traumatic warehouse fire, in which firefighter Jett Avery's closest friend dies, has him suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Attempting to stave off the worst of his depression, he decides to use his brand of therapy...Sex. The remedy has lost luster until he encounters ER nurse Roxanne Carter.
The pursuit of Roxanne by Jett's twin brother, Doctor Cruz Avery, complicates her research and interferes with Jett's therapy. Does Roxanne choose the brother who by analysis is the perfect match? Or the broken, dark and irresistible one?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
A graduate of University of Nebraska Medical Center, Kathleen Grieve earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Nursing in 1994. She has been a dedicated nurse for the past seventeen years, serving most of those years in intensive care. Always writing, Kathleen chose to pursue yet another career- that of a writer. An avid romance reader of all genres since age 13, she decided to try a hand at writing her own novel in the summer of 2006.
She draws a lot from the real-life medical drama she experiences as a RN for her novels. Writing romance is a creative outlet where she can effectively deal with the daily stress and sorrow, adding levity and humor to situations that provide a happily ever after when there isn't one.

(For your information, this book does appear to have some racy scenes in it.  For that reason, I have not posted the excerpt.  It looks like a really good romance novel, and I have chosen to participate in this blog tour because I know my readers have eclectic tastes.  I have not read the book, and I received no monetary compensation nor free product for posting this promotion.)
