This Day in History April 22, 1864

Longacre two cents obverse
Ever seen a two-cent piece?  I honestly didn't know there was such a thing. On this date in 1864, the first two cent piece was released with the motto "In God We Trust." This motto was new, and it was part of the U.S. Coinage Act.  But did you know that this motto was not the only one proposed?  Try "Our Trust is in God," "God Our Trust," and "God and Our Country."

US Payday Loans Lenders For Financial Emergencies

I don't know about you, but it seems like prices keep going up, wages keep going down, and it is sometimes quite difficult to meet all of my financial obligations every month.  It can be the hardest thing in the world to face the month with the knowledge that you cannot pay all your bills.  I am sure we all have had to do it at some point, and it is most unpleasant.

Sometimes, we just need a little bit of help, and that is perfect time to consider Louisiana payday loans.  If you're like me, you might think that applying for a payday loan may be a difficult process.  However, I can assure you that the process takes very little time.  Often within an hour of submitting your application, you will find out whether your are approved or not.  In addition to this, if you are approved, the funds are transmitted automatically to your bank account within 24 hours.

If you are considering payday loans as a temporary solution, you will find that the loan process is possibly the easiest you will ever encounter.  As long as you are an adult, a citizen of the U.S., have a bank account, and make at least $1000 per month, there is a good chance that you will be approved.  Of course, you will need proof of identity, address, and employment, but that should be fairly easy to obtain.  No collateral needs to be provided to secure this kind of loan.

One very important thing to remember is that payday loans are not intended to be a permanent solution.  The time to use this service is when a financial emergency comes up, and you just need a cash advance to get you over the hump.  If you find that you are relying too heavily on loans, I would recommend getting some kind of financial counseling or help so you can get yourself back on track.

In case you have safety/privacy concerns, don't worry.  They have got you covered.  They provide the perfect balance of convenience and security.  They are continually updating their service to make it more user friendly in both areas.  When you find yourself in the middle of a financial nightmare, I would recommend you checking out this fantastic service.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is probably the most comprehensive book I have ever seen concerning finances.  The author is completely practical, real, comprehensible, and furthermore, he speaks with true integrity.  I did not realize until I was part of the way through the book that he wrote another fantastic book: "Your Mark on the World."  This book does somewhat cross over to that book in a few areas, but mostly, this is a book that can help you get your finances in order.

I was most impressed with the organization and the practical advice he gave.  This book is not a book that you would sit down and read from cover to cover.  Find the area where you are struggling, and check it out.  Most of his ideas are common sense ideas, but quite seriously, we sometimes don't follow through with things that are so simple and easy to implement.  Having a knowledgeable person give us solid advice is very often what we need to get us going. In fact, there is a website I have tried to use before, and I didn't understand the significance of it.  He has explained it so well that I think I might just go back to his chapter on it and walk through the process.

If you are making a resolution to get your finances under control (or you want to do it or know you should do it), I invite you to check out this book.  It will be a reference you will turn to again and again.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

This Day in History January 9, 1799

Well, it was on this date in 1799, that income tax was introduced in the UK.  Isn't that nice to know?  Napoleon was in control of much of Europe, and money was needed to stand against him.  The tax rate was ten percent for those who made income  60 pounds and up, and no more than two shillings on income above 200 pounds.  Sounds pretty good, right?

Financial Help in Times of Need

In today's economy, things can be pretty tight when it comes to money.  I know that firsthand.  I left my home in Texas in the hands of some friends of mine who wanted to rent it.  They agreed to make my mortgage payment each month, and I was pretty happy about that.  And then I came back to my home state in the hopes of finding a permanent teaching job.  I had a lot of job interviews, and I figured things were going to go pretty well in the money department.

What began as a very positive summer for me quickly became a fall of disappointment.  I did not get a job, and I was struggling to get everything together for my part-time job offerings.  My cash flow was going to be stopping in September, and I had no prospects.  Thankfully I was living at home with my parents, and my expenses were low.  But I was understandably concerned.

Well, things did work out for me to get a part-time job, and at least I could rest assured that my house mortgage was being taken care of, and so I was pretty sure that I could be relatively financially secure.  While I didn't have extra money to spare, I was doing fairly well.

Unfortunately, my "renters" began to renege on their agreement.  I was promised funds that never materialized.  And I was now paying my mortgage payments most months.  Again, I could do it for a while, but the money I was receiving was becoming more and more sporadic.

My debt was piling up, and finally things came to a head.  I now was in a position to seek help from the bank.  I could barely make my minimum payments each month, and it looked  like I was going to lose my house.  The creditors began to contact me quite regularly, and I was now in a position of financial distress.  I was in need, and I had to get some debt counseling and some help so that I could keep from drowning in my debt.

When your financial situation becomes very complicated and tight, that is when it is time to seek help.  A personal loan is one of the options you can check into with your bank, and they will be certain to direct you towards the best option for you and your family.

Need Money Fast? Australian Residents Check Out Cash First

089/365 Money...What Money
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuartpilbrow/2942333106/

So, have you ever felt like this?  The car broke down.  Your child broke his arm while climbing a tree.  Oh, and on the same day, the next door neighbor's kid threw a baseball through your window.  Not to mention that you have been asked to take a temporary pay cut at work.  I think we have possibly all been there.  When it rains, it pours.  And when you take into account the economical situation of our world right now, it only makes sense.  People run out of money and just need something to get them by till their next payday.

If you are an Australian resident, I know of a site that will help you get past your temporary difficult times.  I would invite you to check out Cash First.  This is a site that offers personal loans to help you during times when you are short of money.  And the best thing is that their process is fast, simple, and you can borrow up to $5000!

You may be wondering about what the "catch" is.  I am here to tell you that there is none.  You just need to meet a few simple requirements, and you are good to go.  You do need to be employed (there is a minimum salary listed on the site), and you have to have a good credit history.  Fill out the simple form, and you can be approved within 60 seconds!  Yes, there is a one-time fee, but it is reasonable and definitely worth it. If approved, your money will be transferred to your bank account within 24-48 hours!

I do want to take a moment to remind you that loans like this should be used wisely.  If you are facing a permanent change, this is a service that can get you by, but it does not replace a stable income.  Use this to get you through that time, plan your repayment plan (there's a repayment calculator on their site), and then get on with your life.

Still, it should give you piece of mind to know that as an Australian resident, this is something for which you are eligible.  Repayment terms are flexible, and you don't have to worry about hidden fees and costs.  This company is legitimate, and you can rest assured that you are obtaining a loan from a reputable company.  Don't fall for any other site out there.  Be sure to check out Cash First, and I think you will find that your search is over practically before it has begun.

Let Your Kids Learn Something Valuable This Summer--Guest Post

money and savings

It is very important that you teach your teen how to manage their money. This is their age to learn to be responsible with finances because this is what they will practice for the rest of their lives when it comes to money management. As a parent, it is your duty to teach them and this summer is probably the best time to do so. Did you ask “why summer”? Well, summer is the time when many teenagers get part-time jobs doing odd jobs and get paid for it. With so many jobs around the corner, summer is probably the best time that you can pick to teach your kids the value of money.

How to teach kids the importance of money

Handling money does not have to be grave and dull. You could think of various ways to teach kids the value of money without stressing them out too much.Let us take a look at the various ways by which your kids can learn how to manage their money and secure their future when it is the time:

  1. Let them have fun: Imagine how bored you were when you were lectured into something although it was a valuable lesson. You do not have to do the same thing with your teenagers. You could be an innovative parent and make learning fun. Teaching them about money management must help them realize that they will have the finances to support their summertime fun activities. Engage their attention instead of distracting them by being boring. You could search online for different fun ways to teach your teenage kids without stressing them out.
  2. Be ready for celebrations: By developing different methods you could help your teens in saving some money. Give them short goals to achieve and when they do achieve those goals do not forget a little celebration for the success that they have made. This will not only make them feel good about themselves but will also inspire them to achieve financial goals in the future. Find out what they would really appreciate if they achieve their financial goals and make sure they get it.
  3. Teach them about free entertainment: Remember the times when you were kids and when there were no gizmos or gadgets but you still had a lot of fun? Yes, teach your kids that they can still have fun even when they are not paying money for expensive video games or playing online on their computers all the time. Again, if they have to play games online make them pay for it and chances are that they may like to make different choices.
  4. Being generous: This could be a very important lesson for your teenagers. Earning money for themselves and spending it only on themselves is something different. Teach your kids to show signs of generosity and this will surely teach them to be simple and responsible too.
  5. Create a savings account: Help them create a savings account and teach them to strictly set aside some money in their account no matter what. This will not only teach them to be financially responsible but will also help them make important life decisions. Explain to them how interests work and how they could impact their money.
  6. Cash management: Kids may not be ready to use credit cards yet and hence you must teach them to manage finances using cash alone. Using cash will teach them management but credit will not. They may lose control on their finances if they are made to handle credit.
  7. Budget for them: Make them get on a budget to make them control their spending habits.

Short Description: Teenagers are young and can be taught the value of money because their minds are receptive. Easyfinance.com will help you create financial awareness.

Author’s bio: Jonny is a financial writer, whose articles on teenage finance management topics have helped several parents as well as teenagers become aware of financial responsibilities.

This Day in History April 22, 1864

I am so glad to bring something uplifting (if not sometimes controversial) in today's feature.  On this date in 1864, Congress passed the Coinage Act of 1864.  This act mandated that the motto "In God We Trust" be put on the U.S. coins.  This all seemed to come about due to the horrors of the Civil War.  People were turning to God because of all they had experienced during this horrible time in U.S. history.  It also came about to increase unity in the country.  The specific coin where this motto was found was the two-cent coin.

I found this particular story quite interesting in light of today.  I know that for some time there has been controversy surrounding this particular inscription.  Many people would like it removed.  In fact, it is probably the same people who would like for the words "under God" removed from the Pledge of Allegiance.  All I can say is that I hope and pray this part of our history will remain intact.  While a good share of people have turned away from God and the church, religion still plays a significant role in our history.  So much has been taken from us in this area that it would be nice to at least hold onto this portion of our history.
