Neater Feeder Giveaway (Ends 4/5) U.S.

tish collage neater feeder
All right, I don't know how many cats and/or dogs you have, but we have one dog and fourteen cats.  It's a long story, but most are formerly feral.  You can imagine how messy meals are for our animals!

Do you have a pet food mess problem? Does your pooch or kitty get their food on the floor? Here's the solution...the Neater Feeder! Neater Feeder keeps your floor clean. Any food or water that spills stays in the Neater Feeder itself. That saves you from cleaning up any yucky pet food that would usually get on the floor. I only have a cat, but I can imagine the mess a big dog could make. The Neater Feeder protects both the floor and the walls if you have a sloppy eater. This product is for both dogs and cats. Just like pets that come in different sizes, so does the Neater Feeder. Whether you have a Chihuahua or a Great Dane, there's one that's just right for your pet. The blogger at Frugal Fairy already has a filtered water bowl that she uses for Tish, so, she uses my Neater Feeder just for food. She put wet on one side and dry on the other. The Frugal Fairy gives the Neater Feeder two thumbs up. ;) Stay Connected with Neater Feeder: Website | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube

My Devotional Thoughts has teamed up with The Frugal Fairy to bring you this awesome giveaway!
One lucky winner will get a Neater Feeder of their choice. 18yrs+, US only.
a Rafflecopter giveaway Disclaimer: The Frugal Fairy was sent a Neater Feeder to facilitate the review. No monetary compensation was received.  My Devotional Thoughts is not responsible for sending prize to the winner.

Back to School Spree Giveaway Hop (Ends 8/31) U.S.

Welcome to the Back to School Spree Giveaway Hop hosted by

Formula Mom and 7 on a Shoestring!  There are just over 100 blogs participating, and you are sure to find items that you can use as you prepare your family to get back into the swing of school.

I have two great sponsors for my giveaway.  And these items are things that I think everyone can use whether you have kids around or not.

In our household, we have fourteen cats, one dog, four goats, some fish, one child, and three adults.  We live in the country, and you might be able to guess that we have issues with stains on a regular basis.  I am always glad when I am able to find things that can help us get rid of stains whether they are on clothing or the carpet.

Kids 'N' Pets is a company that has a solution to this issue.  They have stain-removing products that have no harsh chemicals, and they are safe to use around kids.  They are committed to providing products that are perfect for cleaning up stains and spills whether they are caused by kids, parents, or even you!  Not only do they care about your family and pets, but they are also committed to providing their products to individuals and organizations that are committed to the adoption of pets.

I was fortunate enough to receive a 32 oz. squirt bottle of this wonderful product featured above:  Kids 'N' Pets Instant All-Purpose Stain & Odor Remover.  My mom was the first one to use this.  She added it to laundry as it recommended on the instructions, and it seemed to work just as well as any other stain remover or laundry booster.  The difference was that this is all-natural with no harsh chemicals or perfumes.

It was just this past week that I really got to put this item to the test, however.  We took our wonderful indoor cat, Dusty, to the vet.  You can imagine that was an unhappy cat, but he still slept next to my daughter (as he normally does) all night long.  She showed me in the morning that her cat had evidently bled some on the sheets.  He had some shots, so that would make sense.  I got the sheets off her bed, but then she showed me the carpet.  There were some blood spots there as well.  I immediately ran for this stain remover, and I squirted it on the stain.  We took off, and when I came back, my mom had already cleaned up the spots (she thought it was cat urine because I had not cleaned it up yet, and she was amazed when I told her!).  The spots were completely gone!  I was so impressed!  In fact, when I had to clean something up on the carpet today, I was pretty upset to realize that this stain remover was gone, and what I had to use in its place was not nearly as good!

KIDS 'N' PETS is available at Wal-Mart for as little as $4.98; and many
grocery stores nationwide.  (You will find KIDS 'N' PETS in the
cleaning section near the mops and brooms.)  KIDS 'N' PETS can also be
purchased on Amazon.com, Drugstore.com and Walmart.com.  To learn more

So, I'm wondering, do you have ant problems?  Probably a dumb question to ask because I have never known anyone who doesn't have some kind of bug problem.  And ants can often be the most annoying!

It seems like whenever I have a bug problem, I always tend to think of using a spray before anything else, but as you know, sprays are not always the best solution.  Sprays take care of the immediate problem, but as you probably know, in a short time, they will be back.  You can spray and spray and spray the ants, and they will probably be back the next day.  Why?  Because you have not targeted them at the source!

Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait and Ant Gel is what you need to target the source of your problem.  Ants are drawn to sources of water and food, and these baits and gels provide exactly what the ants are looking for.  The ants eat the gel, and then they take it back to the colony.  They share it with the colony, and this ensures that more of the ants are killed than traditional spray.

I know the concern about any kind of insecticides is how it will affect your kids and/or pets.  Thankfully, the ingredients in Combat are formulated to affect ants, not humans nor pets.  They do recommend hand washing.  It is also good to watch for signs that your pet may have ingested the gel, but it is highly unlikely.  This does give me peace of mind seeing how we have so many animals.

The real test it actually trying these products.  I have been a Combat customer ever since I lived in Florida.  Cockroaches were the issue there, but we do have ants here in Washington state.  While we haven't been able to try everything in the kit yet, we have plans to use this in the garage as we turn it into a playroom for my daughter.  We don't have an ant problem at present, but we know that as soon as we do, these Combat products will be the products to use.  We have seen these ant baits and gels work, and we have complete confidence in these products.

Right now, you can enter to win a Combat $1000 sweepstakes.  Click here to enter.

Now, you may be wondering exactly what I am giving away today.  Well, both of my sponsors have chipped in to give you a wonderful prize pack that includes the following:

16 oz. spray bottle of Kids 'N" Pets Stain & Odor Remover
Box of Combat Ant Gel

Sound pretty good to you?  If so, all you need to do is fill out the rafflecopter below to enter, and then hop on to the other blogs for even more fantastic giveaways!  The giveaway is open only to the U.S., and it ends 9:00 P.M. Pacific Time on August 31.

More From Our Cats

Well, since my last cat picture post was pretty popular, I thought I would do another one.  Here's a little bit more about our various cats.

This is our truly feral mother cat, Stripey.  She is the one we cannot get into the vet to get spayed.  And she has given us three litters of kittens now.  She has three this time around.  Artsy is the one with orange on her. The calico one in the middle is Sissy.  And the big gray one on the end is Feisty.  We believe he is male and the other two we are pretty sure are female.  We'll see when we take them in.

Artsy and Sissy are the calmest ones.  Especially Artsy.  She has the sweetest disposition, and I believe she is the runt.  Sissy can be a little "hissy" at times, but she is pretty sweet.

You probably notice Sissy's right eye.  These kittens have pretty severe eye allergies.  I am constantly cleaning their eyes with some pads I got at Pet Smart the last time we had kittens.  The main problem is that Stripey, their mother, does not clean their eyes like she should.  This eye thing is a common problem amongst barn cats, and although these aren't barn cats, allergies are pretty bad out here in Yelm.

This is Pinto.  He is one of our sweetest cats.  You would never believe that he was born feral.  He loves to snuggle and be on my lap.  He has been known to follow me over the house while I am getting ready in the morning and even jump on the bathroom counter.  His mother was from Stripey's first litter.  We were so certain that his mother, Tiger, was male until she showed up with three kittens!  And her mom had a litter of five that she practically raised along with her own.  Stripey is not known for being a great mom, but her mom was worse!

And this is Bronze, Pinto's brother.  He loves my mom, and his disposition is also pretty sweet.  He does have a tendency to bite if you pet him for a while and don't do it just right.

You can tell how pleased my mom is to have him!

Next time, I will try to get our goats and our newts.

Puplight Giveaway (Ends 7/27) U.S.

Lots of us have day jobs so we don’t get the chance to take our furry friends to the park. Now with the Pup Light you can take Fido out for a run, even at night!

The Pup Light is a collar that contains three ultra-bright LED lights. LED lights are powerful, but since they use AAA batteries it is also a cheap alternative to more expensive dog lights. These lights not only make your pup more visible, it helps them see better too! With the adjustable elastic band you can make sure the light is facing in the correct direction & does not get in any one’s eyes.

Bright lights ensure that you are seen by vehicles & will also scare away any wild animals in your path. Have a super shaggy buddy? Not to worry, this light was designed with fur in mind. The Pup Light has a built in fur guard to make sure the light is always shining visibly.

Are you ready to talk a walk on the wild side? Then enter to win a Pup Light so you can see on your way there. Your fuzzy best friend will thank you for it. Good luck

Twinkle Tuesday--Gone to the Dogs (and Cats)!

I thought I would spend a little bit of time talking about my dogs and cats today.  I haven't really talked about them, and I don't have an current pictures to share--I will get on that.  But I thought that perhaps I would start devoting a couple days a month to our animals.  And I also have a special link to share with you.

We have one dog--she is about 3 years old, and her name is Sandy.  She was recently diagnosed with epilepsy--just starting to treat it.

I happened to find a picture of Sandy:
Now when it comes to kittens, do we ever have them!  We have one domesticated cat--my daughter's black, fluffy Dusty!  He is a scaredy-cat, and she sleeps with him most of the time.  He is independent and loves to be outside.

We used to have a feral cat named Calico that I tamed.  She gave birth to Cotton and Candy who are more domesticated than you could imagine!  They are very much spoiled, and you would have thought they spent their lives inside.  Their mom disappeared a long time ago.

Then there is Stripey (who we believe is on the way out).  She is Calico's sister, and she is mean!  She has given us 2 litters of kittens.  There is Tiger and Tigger who are now both spayed.  Tigger never had kittens.  Tiger had 3 kittens before we miraculously got her in to be spayed.  Only one of her kittens are named:  Bronze.  The other two are sometimes called Pinto and Callie.  As for Stripey's second litter, there are 5--Stripey Junior (or Bandit), Spy, Persian, Asphalt, and Boots.  My daughter named these, and they have become very tame!  We plan to get them all in.  We don't need any more cats!  But I tell you that I can generally tame a feral cat or mostly tame them.  Stripey is the only one I have struggled with.  I will try to get pictures of the cats for another time.

Now to the first site Martin has ever suggested I share on my blog.  He happened on a site that rates dog foods.  He said it was really good.  So here it is.
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/

That's all for now.  I would love to hear about your animals, too.  I am an animal lover, and I am always willing to learn new stuff.
