Thoughtful Thursday--Kyjen Squirrel Dog Toy Review

About a month or so ago, I joined the Kyjen Official Dog Toy Tester.  We have a dog named Sandy who is very tough on toys, and she loves to chase squirrels, so I figures that this medium huck 'em squirrel toy would be a perfect fit for her.

This was Sandy's (our dog) response the day the toy arrived.  Immediately, she began playing with it.  My daughter is holding it.  It was something new and different, and the rattle inside it made it interesting for her.

I'm putting the blurry pictures in the post so you can see how she was rarely still as she played with this new toy.  I will say the face was cute, and it was certainly something unique.

And that was day one!  I have to admit I stopped taking pictures after this because it wasn't even a week before she had taken out all the stuffing from the toy (she delights in doing that).  I have to admit I wasn't surprised.  We know from experience that if the toy says "indestructible" or "strong", out Sandy will have it somewhat demolished before too long.

As I write this, she is not as enamored with the toy as she once was.  But she will pick it up when you least expect it.  While it has no filling, it is still intact.  The body is certainly strong.

Honestly, I only have two complaints.  I would have preferred there being no stuffing--that is just a personal preference due to our dog.  And secondly, while I liked the rattle, a squeaker would have been nice as well.  I think if it had both, it would be the absolute ideal toy.

In conclusion, I encourage you to check out Kyjen dog toys (that is if you have a dog or know someone who does). They have incredibly unique toys that you will not find anywhere else.  And they are concerned about your being happy with your purchase.  And of course, they care about your dog and his/her opinion, too.

I received this dog toy for free in exchange for reviewing it.  All opinions are 100 percent my own, and no attempt to influence my opinion came from the company.

  1. Now this is something I would really like to be a tester for, because my dog loves to destroy toys. The first thing she does with a new toy is try to destroy the squeeker of the toy. I really like some of the toys on their site.

  2. my dog will carry a toy around until its nasty, he hasn't pulled stuffing out as of yet I use to have a border collie who would make pulling stuffing out of toys his job..

  3. I would love to try one of these, my dog has toys that squeak, but we don't have any that rattle. I wonder what he would do.

  4. I have three fur babies who are soooo hard on toys. Lol. I know how you feel about the stuffing. We haven't ever had anything that rattled though, I don't think, but we've been through so many toys. I absolutely love finding new things for my boys. Thanks for the great, honest review.
