This Day in History April 29, 1852

Okay, if you are over 70, your life is not over.  Why?  On this date in 1852, Dr. Peter Mark Roget first published his thesaurus, containing 15,000 words.  He had started work on it 47 years prior, and he was a prolific writer already,  But this is probably what he is most remembered for.  And I used to read that thesaurus when I was growing up--just for fun.  Seriously.  I loved learning new words.

  1. Very interesting.. I will have to show this to my Mom who loves to read and turned 70 this year. Some days I think she is in better shape than me.
