Jack Templar and the Monster Hunter Academy by Jeff Gunhus
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I am pleased to say that this second book in the series did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series (even though I do not always like fantasy books), and I will definitely look forward to the next in the series! This is the perfect young adult fantasy novel, and my daughter (who is almost 10) is also looking forward to reading this. I spent some time trying to figure out why I like this fantasy series even though it deals with vampires, werewolves, and the zombies. All I can say is that the book is clean, funny, and well-written. For whatever reason, Jeff Gunhus can make me believe the fantasy portions of the book and even embrace them. I guess it must be a gift he has.
I recommend this book highly to lovers of young adult fiction, fantasy fiction, and even those who just want to read something different. I would recommend reading the first book in the series first because you might find yourself getting lost without reading the first book.
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
