Thoughtful Thursday--Obol the Original Crispy Bowl Review

Have you heard of the Obol?  Neither had I until I won one about a month ago.  I remember as i read my initial review of it that the concept was intriguing.  Imagine having a divided bowl for cereal, chips, ice cream, and much more. I remember entering the giveaway and honestly giving the bowl no more thought.

When I discovered I won, I actually had to look up again what the product was!  (Okay, I know.  I enter way too many giveaways!)  But once the bowl arrived, I was totally blown away!  I had not expected the bowl to be so big and sturdy.  One thing I noticed right away was the bottom of the bowl.  I haven't actually read other reviews that said how nice it is to almost have a little handle underneath the bowl.

I'll be honest.  I eat breakfast in front of the  TV set watching Fox news.  (So now you know more about me and my eccentric behaviors!) That handle under the bowl is a Godsend!  I do not drop the bowl easily.

So what do I eat in my Obol?  Well, I am strange.  I like yogurt with my cereal.  I began eating it that way a long time ago.  I am not a milk person.  I love dairy products, but I do not like milk.  I love the fact that I can put my yogurt in the top part of the bowl and my cereal in the bottom part.  I also used this bowl for salsa and chips!  I have not thought of ice cream and fruit,  soup and crackers, and so many more uses.

I have an 8-year-old daughter who loves when I win something.  She knows I have won it, but if it looks interesting  to her,  she wants  it.  You can imagine how we fight over the bowl.  Well, not really.  The moment it comes out of the dishwasher, I generally find myself using it.  I eat long before she does, and so I do not normally save the Obol for her.  But on the two occasions when I have, she has been pretty happy!  She is not a big milk drinker, but she likes milk with her cereal.  She tends to take her  time when eating her cereal, so it if often quite soggy by the end.

The last thing I will say is that normally I do not like bowls made out of any kind of plastic or synthetic material.  Generally, it means that the bowl is thin and flimsy.  Not so with Obol.  It is thick and sturdy--BPA free and made in the USA from unbreakable polypropylene.

Just so you will know, I received no compensation for this review, and all opinions are 100 percent my own.
