I've Been Tagged--25 Things

Paris over at Bless My Nest did a really neat post today, and since I have  read it, I have been "tagged," as she said.  Warning, if you read her post,  you'll be  "tagged," too.  So,  I am going to list 25 things about myself.  And this still is in keeping with Sporadic  Saturday, isn't it?

1.  I am 36 years old.

2  I have a 7-year-old daughter named Martha is almost a mini-me.  Everyone knows she is my daughter because we look a lot alike.

3. I taught music to all grades and ages for 13 years, and I now am a substitute teacher in  9 districts!

4. I was 21 before I got my driver's license.  It took me four times to pass the driving  portion of the test.  I got it just before  I began my first teaching job--the Friday before!

5. I was married  10 years but  am now  a single mother.  My ex has possible schizophrenia but diagnosed severe depression.

6. I graduated number 13 in my high school class.  I graduated summa cum laude at college a semester before I was supposed to.

7.  I have written several unpublished books.  Some of them are over 300 pages long.

8.  I am a fan of musicals and old movies.  I used to be a walking encyclopedia of old Hollywood trivia.

9. I now weigh less and am in better shape than when I was in high school.

10. My best friend, Martin, lives in England for 6 months and here in the States for 6 months.  We met online.

11. I have been a  Christian since I was about 6 or 7.  I was saved during Vacation Bible School.

12. My parents were divorced when I was about 4, and they got remarried (with my brother as the best man and me as the flower girl) about 3 years later.

13. I buy most of my clothes at thrift stores.

14. My favorite music is musical theatre, country, pop, oldies, and some rock.  I do like classical, but I don't spend a lot of time listening to it.

15. I am not a necessarily crafty person, but I do enjoy craft kits. I usually do quite well with them when I have the time.

16. My dream in high school and following was to play Christine Daee in The Phantom of the Opera opposite Michael Crawford.

17. From about  fourth grade until I was a senior in high school, I did not wear pants.  I always wore dresses and skirts.

18. I played with Barbie dolls up through my senior year in high school.  I had a whole dream world founded upon them.

19. I wanted to be Annie when I was a little kid.  I even changed my hair to look like her.  Except that I didn't die it red!

20. I love to read all sorts of books but especially historical fiction.

21. I have seen the following people live in concert:  Michael Crawford, Bon Jovi, Reba McEntire, and George Strait.  All were great except the last one.  Thankfully he was touring with Reba and he was at the end of the concert so we left early.

22. I hated country music as I was growing up, but now it is my second favorite kind of music--sometimes  moves  up to being my favorite.

23. My standards as I was growing up were not to watch movies that were  rated PG and above.  It took  me  a long time to allow myself to watch PG and  PG13.  The only R-rated films I have seen are Amistad and The Passion of Christ.

24. I am quite  a history buff though I still have much to learn about it.

25. I love cooking and baking as long as I get to try new recipes!

Okay, that should let  you know a few things about me. Share anything you would like about yourself or maybe even do your own post on your blog, if you have one!

#23... I usually keep my standard pretty high as well, I still hear "oh be careful little eyes what you see" when picking out new movies.
Thanks for the link, this is fun!

  2. That's interesting, Ruth. I loved the "Phantom of the Opera" movie, and still watch it from time to time.
We couldn't wear pants when I was in school. So when I got to college, that was a real treat for me.
