Always nice to read a historical book that is basically clean, is well-written, and has a bit of mystery to it. This book meets those qualifications. You will find no sex scenes, no descriptive violence, and very minimal profanity. I was most excited about the little bit of intrigue that was included in the story. I didn't see it coming until I was about halfway through the book. I knew something was up, but the author expertly dropped very subtle hints to throw you off the scent. And that she did!
I loved Sarah and Alexander, and this was definitely a different kind of historical romance. Sarah is a strong character, and I have never read a historical novel with such an unusual romance. I thought it was just your normal, average romance, but things changed rapidly. This is a book that I can highly recommend. This is a delightful book that anyone who enjoys a good, clean romance can enjoy completely.
