I am so pleased to be able to give this book my highest rating and recommendation. It was an absolute delight to read, and I cannot think of any portion of the book I did not like. It is a completely clean historical romance--no profanity, no sex. In fact, it would appear that this story comes from a Christian perspective. It's always nice to see God in a book even if He is somewhat in the background. I also appreciated the mystery and tension the author added--fantastic!
The author's writing style was refreshingly easy to read. I often had to remind myself that I was reading a book by a modern author. It reads like the great classics of old. The characters are fully developed, and the plot is so clever. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. My review cannot do this book justice without giving away too much of the story line. If you love historical fiction and romances, this is the book for you!
