Black Pepper Beef Jerky Review

I have always been a fan of beef jerky.  In fact, I used to buy it all the time, but I got rather disenchanted with it as time has gone on.  It seems like the jerky I tended to get was really tough and hard to chew.  I have good teeth, but I just don't like to chew forever on a tough piece of meat forever.

I was very pleased to discover beefjerkey.com.  This beef jerky is packaged fresh, and it makes all the difference in the world!  In fact, they guarantee that the jerky you get from them has been packaged within two weeks from your date of purchase.  And this company will ship free to the U.S. and over 100 countries! This is also astronaut-approved beef jerky!  They say it is their favorite.

The particular flavor of jerky that I got to try was Final Frontier Black Pepper Jerky.  This is one of four flavors they offer, and this is definitely spicy!  They also offer Mild Original Hickory, Honey Teriyaki, and Hot Red Pepper.

The Black Pepper flavor is definitely spicy.  You can see the pepper on it, and it can tend to be a little messy.  But the flavor is unbelievable!  This is the perfect jerky for the person (like me) who likes spicy food but is surrounded by those who do not.  The reason I say that is that the pepper can be brushed off to reduce the spicy flavor.  My mom tried it, and she liked it even though it was a little on the spicy side.

I have now had the jerky for a couple weeks, and it is still just as good as it was the first moment I opened it.  It has kept well, and it is a something I would definitely get again.  In fact, I am thinking it would make a great gift--beef is a popular food in my family.  And the nice thing is that beef jerky is also a healthy food.  It is high in protein and low in calories and fat.  And with the pepper flavor, I am not inclined to eat much at a time.  I think if I went with the teriyaki or hickory, I might find myself  eating more than I should.  As it is, I still have half of this jerky left!

I was intrigued to discover that they are now offering fish jerky.  This has certainly piqued my attention.  I may just have to try that out.  Since fish is not something that is liked much in my household, I never get enough.  This might be a snack worth considering--I am sure it will be good!

In addition to checking out their site and ordering your own jerky, you may wish to follow the company on facebook or sign up for their mailing list.

I received the above products through Sublime Media Connection in exchange for an honest review. In no way was I asked to give a positive review.
