Well, today was a monumental day in music history. And it concerned what you see in the picture above. Yes, on this date in 1981, MTV was launched! I remember MTV in its inception because I refused to watch it. My next-door neighbor loved Madonna, and I remember having to watch her once. And that was it. Thankfully, we did not have cable, so I did not have to watch it.
Amazingly, early MTV offered music videos--can you believe it? Not like today when it has other programming on. And the first video? I will attach the video here--it's really a hoot!
