This Day in History January 4, 1962

Subways are the normal way for people to get around in New York City, and it was on this date in 1962, that the first automated subways train first made an appearance.  It carried passenger between Times Square and Grand Central Station.  I honestly don't think I have been an a subway that was actually driven by someone--at least not for a great number of years!  Oh, and I don't live in New York either.
