I have to admit that this book pleasantly surprised me. It is a short book, but it includes a lot of information. It has the nicest ideas for homemade gifts that are easy to make, versatile, and fairly inexpensive. Why go into debt over giving people gifts? You probably did that last year. This is the perfect alternative. If you really get into doing some of the activities listed, you will need to look elsewhere for more help and ideas. I would call this a good starter book. Some things, like bookmarks and such, are easy enough for anyone to make. But when it comes to knitting, making lotions and preserves, you will want some additional help (plenty of free help online, by the way)to expand the ideas in the book. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to begin making gifts for their family and friends. I plan to refer to this throughout the year ahead.
