This Day in History June 24, 1949

So do you like Westerns?  Well, on this date in 1949, Hopalong Cassidy became the first TV Western.  I just asked my mom if she used to watch it.  She remembers listening to it on the radio, but she is pretty sure she watched it on TV (but not in '49).

This is show I never watched, but I have heard of it.  I grew up watching reruns of other Westerns, and I have to admit that I couldn't stand Westerns as I grew up!  I kind of enjoy them now.

  1. I saw some of them - I think they were on Saturdays in reruns in the '60's.
I have a Hop Along Milkglass glass - don't use it, just keep it for nostalgia

  2. I actually met him once - well, William Boyd, the actor. He was very gracious!
