Immortal Voyage Blog Tour Book Review

 Immortal Voyage

Before the time of the great pyramids, there was a place like none other, a city of glass and metal rising from the depths of the ocean. Shrouded in mist, the island of Hy-Brasil and its capital Atlantis lay hidden from the rest of the world by its people, a race of long lived, interstellar nomads.
What secrets would you keep to save your kingdom? On the Queen’s deathbed, the sonless King Rowe is force into a promise to allow his five daughters to marry for love. A promise he wished he had never made, and one he will have to break, to save the kingdom from his squabbling, incompetent son-in-laws.
The youngest of five daughters, Jael, spent most of her time at her father’s side learning to run a kingdom. Believed to be the King’s favorite, Jael is shocked when he betroths her to a longtime friend of his, Prince Sarik of Hy-Brasil. Soon she will learn that world is full of secrets and one of them is her very own birth. Will the secret that bonds her to Sarik be the ultimate downfall of a kingdom?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I will be honest with you.  I was not sure I would like this book.  I only opted to read it because it sounded different from my usual read.  I began reading it, and it was all I could do to put it down!  I absolutely loved this story even though reason would have told me I wouldn't like it. I don't normally enjoy fantasy or mythology, but this book is amazing!

I have almost no criticisms of this book.  The bedroom scenes only occur during married people (I am so glad for that fact), and it is very tastefully done.  The profanity in the book is almost nonexistent.  These two facts made the book much more enjoyable for me.

The characterization was absolutely fantastic, and the story was amazing.  From the first page until the very end, I was absolutely enthralled.  There was some magic in the story, but this was not offensive to me in any way.  I will not give any spoilers, but this was a wild ride that I did not even figure out until the very end.  I would love to read more in this saga--I doubt I would grow tired of Sarik and Jael any time soon.

For me, everything about this book is absolutely charming and endearing. The romance is phenomenal, and I did not find myself disappointed at any point in the story.  If you like romance, fantasy, and/or a well-written story, this is the book for you.  Go into it with an open mind, and you may have found a story that captures your imagination like nothing else.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
