On this date in 1930, Betty Boop debuted. You can see the video above. Of course, she has become a U.S. icon that we still see to this date. In fact, she became the official Fantasy Football Cheerleader for the Uni9ted Football League in 2010. In her earliest days, she was patterned after a French poodle--go figure! Clara Bow and Helen Kane (don't know either) inspired the character as well.
