"Howard Wigglebottom Listens to His Heart" Book Review

Summary from goodreads:  This book tells the story of a little bunny that stops doing what he loves the most because his friends were making fun of him. He wanted to belong, to fit in so desperately that he tried unsuccessfully all kinds of activities. One day, with a little help from his grandfather, the bunny decides to be true to himself. This second book in the "learn how to listen series" is a great tool for helping children 4-8 work with self esteem and acceptance issues. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another fantastic book reviewed by my daughter! My daughter is 9, and I realize that she is technically older than the targeted ages of 3-8, but my daughter is able to review this book in light of that age range.

First of all, my daughter sometimes struggles with comprehension, but she was able to summarize this book very easily. That makes me feel good as a mother. She loves reading these "bunny" books, as she calls them, and I am always pleased that she is willing to do it for me.

The message of this book is one that is much needed in this day and age. My daughter sometimes struggles with "fitting in" and "doing her own thing." She does not like to be made fun of or put down for what she wants to do. This book encourages students to not let other people's ideas keep them from doing what they want to do. In the era of bullying, this is a timeless message, and the younger you can get this message out to kids, the better the chances are that your child will not be afraid to be himself or herself. This is a book that every child (and parent) should read.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

I am so pleased that I got to review this book (along with my daughter), and I am pleased that the company wants to giveaway a copy of one of their books--watch out, the giveaway is on its way.
