This Day in History March 12, 1912

No, I never joined Girl Scouts, but it was on this date that the founder of Girl Scouts had their first official meeting in 1912.  Amazingly, she grew up as a pampered Southern belle, she created a society that became only vaguely similar to its British counterpart--Girl Guides.

Having never been a girl scout, I don't honestly know much about Girl Scouts except that I am not interested.  And I am glad my daughter isn't either.  I already bought my girl scouts cookies quota for the year.
