This Day in History November 4, 1916

It was on this date in 1916, that arguably one of the best journalists of all-time was born--Walter Cronkite.  For nineteen years, he was the anchor on CBS News (1962-1981).   Amazingly, i grew up knowing his name though I'm pretty sure I didn't watch CBS News while he was on it.  He was just one of those names that meant excellence in journalism.  And he was voted "the most trusted man in America."  He passed away on July 17, 2009.  I remember hearing about that.

Although I was not alive when JFK was assassinated, I have had the privilege of going to the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, Texas on three occasions.  When I saw the following video, I was moved.  I am not used to seeing a journalist emotional, and it is clear that Walter Cronkite was quite emotional--understandably so. I remember getting emotional myself as I saw this video the first time in that museum.
