Self-Help / NonFiction
Title: All the Doors to Hollywood and How to Open Them
Author - Anne M. Strick

Date to be Published: June 18, 2012

Synopsis:

A FIRST-EVER GUIDE TO LARGELY UNKNOWN, HIGH-PAYING JOBS IN  FILM AND TELEVISION

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
If you are looking for an informative book about the Hollywood job scene, this is a book you will want to check out.  Anne Strick shares interviews with real people in the Hollywood industry, and they share the insider secrets as well as interesting stories from their career.

While  I am not looking to get into the Hollywood industry any time soon, I have to say that I learned about some of the lesser-known job titles in this alluring job market.  I have watched the credits in movies several times and marveled at the different job titles.  While I could not rattle the names of the industry titles off to you, I think I at least have a better idea of all the work that goes on behind the scenes in movies.

No sex scenes, and only one profane word, so the book is essentially clean.  I don't know the newer movies, so I probably wasn't as enthralled as I could have been as I read the stories.  I would have loved to have heard more from some of the people who were there in the 1950's and 1960's, but that is just me.  I'm an old-time movie buff, so the new movies I know often in name only.

The author shared some pertinent websites and information in the back of the book for those serious about getting into this industry.  And she herself has first-hand knowledge since she broke into the movie business.  She is preparing a sequel to the book, so be sure to look out for it!

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
