The thing that impresses most about Ray Charles is that he had two major factors against him--blindness and his race. In the day and time in which he lived, both were looked down upon quite severely. I am not saying that I condone the way in which he lived his life. But when he made the decision to give up his drug habit, he did.
I will say up front that Ray Charles is not my favorite singer, but there are some classics that he sang like none other--Georgia on My Mind (which became the state song of Georgia), I Got a Woman, and so much more.
Speaking of Ray Charles, I have a giveaway going on right now of his greatest hits. It is a 3-CD set, and when I checked it out, it has been so popular that it actually sold out! So win it right here on my blog!

Thank you so much Ruth ^_^
This is a wonderful giveaway. He fought against many odds and pulled himself off of his drug addiction. But there is just something about the way he sings that's soul deep. Love listening to him. Thanks Ruth for this amazing giveaway. Thanks for the opportunity .
