Those of you have been with me a while know that I have a friend in England who is not saved. He has been a good friend to me and to my family for many years. Nine and a half years for me alone. He was there when my marriage broke up, when I dated a loser guy, and when I made the move back to Washington state. Due to immigration requirements, he could only live here in the U.S. 6 months out of the year. And he could not work.
In spite of everything, I fell in love with him, but we were first and foremost friends. I have prayed for his salvation, and at times he was quite receptive. But he couldn't get past the amount of people in the church who didn't treat him right.
In recent times--within the past year--he has developed such a hate for my father (and the feeling is mutual from my dad) that he has made some poor decisions. And in many ways, the only people that ever cared about him have been shut out from his life, including me. I am the only one who still has some access to him, but there are lots of serious issues. God has helped me in this situation, and He continues to.
Now, why did I tell you all of this? And how does the title go with what I am writing? Well, this blog has been what keeps me going, and I am not kidding. Every night for at least the past month, one of the last prayers I pray is a thank you to God for this blog and all of you. Even though I am back to school, blogging and hosting giveaways has become the thing that I almost live for! (Not quite, but you understand.)
So to all of you, thank you for being my wonderful readers. Every time I get a comment, it just makes my day. When I realize that people are actually reading what I write and receiving encouragement from it, I am truly humbled. I have always loved to write, and I dreamed of being a published author, but this is more dynamic than that. I don't think I will ever truly get bored as a blogger!
I know that my giveaways are ending, and I want to thank everyone for their wonderful support. I will be getting the prizes sent out this week, I promise! And more giveaways are on the way. I wish I could personally write to each of you, but just know that I have special things planned for you.
I want to also thank you for liking the This Day in History section. Really, that was just a momentary inspiration that I thought people didn't even like at first. It was really something that I started for me. I am a teacher, and I used to do those kinds of things with my students. So, I guess it is my chance to teach! Keep watching because I have more ideas but they just haven't happened yet!
Keep up the great work Ruth!
