This Day in History October 6, 1986

I had no idea this holiday even existed, but maybe you did?  The date of this holiday comes from the sticker poking out of the Mad Hatter's hat (from Alice in Wonderland) that says 106.  And so back in 1986 on this date, a group of computer technicians in Boulder, Colorado decided to create this day.  It is about six months from the other silly holiday, April Fool's Day.  But this holiday is described as a kinder, gentler fool's day.  And by the way, in the UK, the date is celebrated in June 6 (due to the way they read their dates).  Oh, detailed plans for celebrating this day will be released tomorrow since plans released after the fact make more sense and work better.  (Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?)

Would you like to make your own Mad Hatter Hat?  Check out this project here.
