This Day in History November 18, 1928

[Mickey Mouse] Curta: Steamboat Willie (18 Nov 1928) por planetadisney  no Videolog.tv.

Ever seen this short?  Well, it just so happens that is was this day in 1928 when the original Mickey Mouse cartoon was first shown!  It was the first cartoon that synchronized sound and cartoon.  Walt Disney was the original voice of Mickey Mouse (and he continued until 1946).

This short opened at Colony Theater in New York, and this was the birth of Mickey Mouse on screen.  I did discover that it was not actually the first Mickey Mouse film created, but it was the first one released.

I don't know about you, but I have a special place in my heart for Mickey Mouse.  For Disney in general. And this was the birth of what Disney would be and has become.
