This Day in History December 28, 1973

It was on this date in 1973 that a very important law was passed.  The Endangered Species Act of 1973 was signed by President Nixon, and it was a very strong law when it first went into place.  Government funding and support was outlawed for anything that would endanger species.  I think we can be glad that this happened because I believe that many of our animals would have disappeared if something hadn't been done.  Possibly this was something good that Nixon did, I would say.  To be fair to that president, I know he did a lot of good things, but sadly he will always be remembered for the Watergate scandal.
